Poor images

I keep noticing some images that are of poor quality get 5 and even 6 stars. These reviewers are not new but have been around for quite some time.
I am astounded as this is meant to be a medium to have honest fair critiques for improvement.
This is not just about liking or not liking the subject as we all perceive things a bit differently.
However the images that I am talking about are not in focus, grainy and unclear.
Why can't we be honest and still be respectful.
I have had several 4 or 41/2 stars and felt they were not justified... just need to roll with the punches so to speak and continue to improve.
