I love how beautiful the red stands out against the Green. I like the Cardinals head looking upward as if proud of its on beauty but in reality probably looking for a mate!

A beautiful design - I specially love his position sitting in the grass waiting for a special moment -
great use of space - your grass is well defined and your color application is excellent creating a kind like reality effect - excellent shadow and light application - the bird is well done in all details and he is very well placed in your space -

Very nicely created image of the cardinal. Good details in the birds feathers. Nice crest on the head. The bright red really stands out against the green. The stance is very typical of the ever wary bird. Nice eye. Well seen and created.

I really wish we had these colorful birds in Norway, because they really stand out against any background. What I really like about this painting is how deep and intense the red colors are, and the fine shadings on the bird's chest. The all green background is of course perfect since green and red are complementary colors. I also like the very fine textures in the green.
You have indeed paid good attention to details when painting this bird, and your brush strokes are just excellent. I like the pose you have given the bird as well, because it is telling a story.
The format and framing is very good, and I think the bird has got a perfect placement on the canvas. I really like this one Cleo, and it is extremely well done.
