This is a nice angle and really shows off the mist well. There is a ton of energy in this image with the power of the falls behind all that mist. The colors look good too.

Nicely shown the extreme size of the waterfall and the boat makes additional value to the picture. Nicely exposed, neutral coloured and correct placement of the boat.

Thanks for your review!

Nice, dramatic shot. I like the color slowly fading to white and gray as you move from the lower left to the upper right. I so would love to be on that boat! It looks quite cold however.
Nice job!

This is a dramatic looking scene. I don't know how close this boat got, but if he got stuck under the pressure of those falls, I'm sure it would tear that boat apart. I like the angle that you shot this from. The patch of hillside in the foreground anchors the dramatic scene in place. This is a nicely composed photo.

Your nice and thoughtful review is much appreciated! The boats do go fairly close but not critically so!

This is a really nice shot of the Falls, but I am not sure of the focal point. Maybe if you cropped out some of the green hillside it would help. My eye is first drawn to the hillside because of the sharp contrast in color between it and the water. The approach of the boat to the Falls is very interesting and plays second fiddle to the Falls and third to the countryside. I love the way you shot this giving the viewer lots of depth and dimensionality. Good framing as well. The boat leads the eye into the Falls and it leaves us wondering, how much farther will the boat go?

Your very detailed and considered review is most welcome as is your suggestion! If I remember correctly the focal point is the boat itself.

WOW...what an experience being in that boat with all that spray and powerful water falls. Certainly a great view captured here of these magnificent falls. Good lighting, focus and clarity. Well shot!

Nik,
A beautiful & dramatic stop action picture of the Maid of the Mist approaching the centre of The Horseshoe Falls at Niagara on the Canadian side beautofully framed by the falls, Spray/mist & the vegetation on the bank in the foreground Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I've been on that boat but I don't remember such a fantastic view - spectacular capture. Great natural color and lighting so you rule the buttons!!! LOL I also enjoy the angle to the shot - don't know where you were standing but next time I'm there I'll figure it out cos it is a fantastic spot. Thanks for sharing.

I love the light painted look of this photo. The closeness of the land makes me feel as though I am peering over the edge and the distance of the falls and the 'depth' of the boat keeps my eye circling in in the photo. Lovely!

A very dramatic eye catching shot,
I like the angle you have captured the boat as it travels diagonally through the frame which draws the eye left to right, the boat looks so small against the majestic waterfall,
Great capture of the water and spray which add drama to the scene. Nice focus and clarity, a pleasure to view.
