I like your work on the light in this drawing. The skin tones and body shape are done really well. There is a nice amount of texture and the work you did on her hair is very nice. Great facial features too.

I love your use of color and form in this piece. The red dress really caught my eye. The pose you chose for the model is quite expressive. Beautiful work.

I love how you've depicted the pain and agony of the girl . It is so real . The way you've rendered the dress and her body parts is also amazing . The art piece is amazing and makes you wonder what is the reason for the girls sadness . The piece engages you which is very good . It was a pleasure looking at it

I love the subtle colours you used in this lovely pastel painting, James and like the way you show the different between different textures of hair, skin and clothing. I like the pose of the model. Very good blending of pastels. The background works very well. Lovely composition. Suzanne

Interesting piece. Fairly classic pose but you have created a lot of interest in the shot. The red dress accented by her blonde hair brings us into the image. The background adds to the image without being distracting. Her over the shoulder look helps bring out her beauty. Your technique with the medium works well here. Well conceived and executed.

Simply amazing... I have always been impressed with your proportions in the human body. This is no exception. But this one is fascinating me because of the black artboard. I know nothing about it and how you control the opacity of your pastels. But I am guessing that you are amazing enough to use the black board to shadow and texture your work in skin, hair, background... etc. I am fascinated by the black spots you have used in order to achieve that depth in your image. And that means you are in control of how you lay down your pastels... right?
The hair is amazing... do you sharpen your pastels in order to achieve those very fine tendrils of hair?
As a whole...I love the light you have brought from the upper left corner vs the metallic gray in the right. You are so good at mixing hard and dramatic lines, colors and shading in your image with the soft ones....such as the hair.
I am so pleased you are still sharing your work with us here on FAR. I have just read your profile again...does it need updated? Have you made it to Italy yet? If not...someone is missing the boat! Your work is all yours... no one can match it. Thanks for sharing.

Your creation of light in this painting is terrific. The reflected light on her skin tones creates a soft sensual feel to the image. The folds in her garment and her hair are expertly rendered. I really like this series that you have created on the black art board.
