Suitcases from Auschwitz

Annie I agree whole heartedly about whether this should be shown or not, but I honestly believe that it should. This was a very evil time for humanity, these suitcase are all that these people had left of their lives and then it was taken away from them and simply discarded. Which was what their fate eventually would be.
The younger generations now have to see images like these and learn how it came about and how not to let it happen again, yet it still is happening right now.
Well Done and thanks for having the guts to post it, I take my hat off to you and Thanks
Swede

I like that you posted a picture on such a powerful topic, I studied this topic a few years back and I was nearly in tears learning about the terrible things they did to them. Its a beautiful, interesting picture and it goes really well with the contest you entered, good luck!

Good entry into the contest. It does tell a morbid story and is journalism at its best. Not a good story but a true ugly part of the world and what humans have done to it. Good luck in the contest.

Very nicely done. A strong piece of expressive photogprahy.
I like the way the edges are softened.
Nicely composed and strong storytelling.

A vivid reminder of recent history in Europe bad days. Once again a picture does speak a thousand words.
It is not the technical excellence that matters here but what the picture says.

I think this is just right for the contest, I can't think of anything more ugly than imagining the way the people who owned these bags ended their lives. Its so sad, really cant see how anyone could do such things to another person. Very confronting photo the way their all piled up like that. You look at the names and wonder who they were.

This is a really good entry for the ugly side of life contest. What a sad sight!! Good composition and reminder for all of us that life is precious and no one should be able to take it from us. Thanks for sharing!

I know exactly what you are talking about this was definitely and "ugly" and "evil" thing. I have visited there also and saw that same room with all of the things in it- I also saw hair and brushes and they told us that they took everything from them that they owned and leftt them with nothing- how horrible. I think it very appropriate for the contest.

Tough to look at and think these suitcases actually belonged to someone who lost their life in Auschwitz! Really sad! Incomprehensible! Good framing and matting! Cindy
