Thank you very much. Sorry, I do not know the color of her eyes nor how the look close up. I was never near enough her to see, because she was behind her stand attending to costumers wile I scratched her plus we were in the shade. [The shading and light I used in the painting are based on reference photos of someone else] Her eyes appeared to me like shining dark coals, just as I painted them.

This is a nice portrait of a young woman who you have met and talked with. Her hair and face is well done from a technical point of view. I like the embroidery details of her blouse. I find that the colours chosen for the background are not complimentary with the her portrait and they seem to drain her energy. thanks for sharing

Thank you very much for your review and your input. What background would be adequate with the unusual amount of pink in her outfit?

If you have access to a colour wheel look for complimentary. My choice would be a neutral like the some of the beiges in her collar, or you could choose greys. This would make the pink pop too.

I have the color wheel. I had beige in first but found it to light, especially with that pink. I found that the face was not enough emphasized and the hairdo is not very important. so i used the darker colors of the immage for the marmorated background. Well that is me. I am often accused of being to dark in my pictures. It seems my colors look always lighter to me than to others. I will see to it. I have the beige background saved maybe when I darken it a bit to somewhere between the old beige and the current.

Very pretty. I am not familiar with Artrage, but apparently it creates nice art work. Great colors and details.

Thank you very much! Painting with ArtRage is pretty similar to painting on canvas, but without the mess of paint splatter, The brushes are moved with the fingers on a pad. One need to have experience in traditional painting to work with the program. I scratch usually on the pad; but others use traditional scratches on paper they scan in and than proceed in the chosen medium. There are watercolors, chalks, crayons, pencils and oils available in the program. I had oil on basic canvas chosen for the portrait.

Very unique way interpreting a culture of a royal lady. Tonal blending fits the theme really well with a sensational touch to the heart.

Thank you very much for your kind review. Sorry if my comments are confusing. This lady is not royal. She is Maya, one of the underprivileged people in her country.

Wonderful portrait of this Mayan woman. The blended base of green and red make the piece vivid and sharp. The softnessin your brush strokes are masterful. The bow in her hair with the wonderful floral arrangement in her blouse really take the viewer on a journay. You captured her personality and charm in her face. Very Nice

Wonderful portrait and great subject matter. Terrific light casting on face and neck areas. Background magnifies the persona. Technically superior.

What a truly nice story, and what a nice portrait, has a bit of the feel of an older piece, and yet nice modern colors. Not hard to tell who has done this, the flowers are a giveaway! LOL Donkeyoatey..I like the eyes!

This is gorgeous! Very nicely broken up compositionally, beautiful lights and darks, nice smooth transitions in focal points of flesh. Real pretty coloring! It reads really well from a distance! What a great job.

Thank you very much for your encouraging review. It is painted for canvas and originally seen from a distance. Thanks for realising that.

A beautiful painting. The look and pose are expressed lovely. The muted back ground. The lighting and shadows very pleasing. Very nice piece of art.
