Nicely done. Interesting to see a seagull art work as opposed to the photo version. Color and detail look very good. Nicely composed with a background that contrasts well with the subject. Good work.

Since I'm become a Photographer I have found that there isn't to much here on this beautiful earth that God give us to be to much of a nuisance;) I don't live on the coast (I wish that I did;) but, I do live to watch the Seagulls when they are here in Iowa during the winter months:) This is a terrific painting of these Seagulls and the water and the beach.. it has excellent colors and the details are really great! I can tell 'what kind' of bird they are even if you had put him in a forest;) Terrific job and a great entry for this contest. I wish you the best in it and I thank you for sharing it with us:)-Cindy

Great technique, love the style.
Like the composition of the gull on the stump. Your technique for the water is strong. I also like the scattered pebbles on the beach, for a texture contrast.

Nice painting that captures the flavor of the beach area. We live near the ocean (5 miles away.) so are really familiar with this kind of scene.
I like the way you varied the color of the water and the bark of the stump the bird is standing on.
initial impact 5, creativity 5, color harmony 4 ( would have liked to see larger, more detail on foot of bird in foreground) ((if the seagull in front is a female it would have a red dot on tip of beak, which would add more power to your overall piece.) center of interest 3 (more detail and color on the big bird would add a lot strength to this piece I think.) Tech excellence 3 ( I think the things I mentioned would apply) Technique 5 (you have a good eye for detail, handle the artistic presentation very well, and seem to be very talented. This is nice work and has good story telling ability. Thanks for a great post.
