Love this one. Hope to see this at the top, maybe photograph of the month. Great substance and content. This old woman looks strong in spirit. I like her ashtray, made of coconut shell. clarity of patterns and facial features, even the smoke. Well captured and is very informative.

Your Focus on this Lady with her Cigar and coconut ashtray is superb Fred. I am seeing that you may have used the Gaussian blur tool or a smoothing tool to blur the background, but I am afraid I can see where you used the tool and this takes away from your awesome shot. I am also sorry to say that NO edits where allowed in this contest, so do not be surprised when the Committee judges decline your entry.
Despite all that, I Love the shot with the smoke, but I would have just reduced noise to blur background.
Sorry bud..you know I love your work. =)

Great capture! Love this little lady smoking that big cigar. Wonderful clarity and lighting. I like that you captured the smoke. Is this a cigar that lasts all day? Very nicely done!

I like this as a different portrait, the smoke tends to blot out some of her features slightly, then that's part of the charm of this, there is something slightly wrong with the background in this, not sure what it is,but that saying its a charming shot in its own way...brian

Same of not, it is very well captured photo. Her face seems to show the joy of her bad habit, nice focus on the smoke. Very clear and interesting photo.

This is GREAT!!!
Fabulous portrait! I love the angle of her body and arms. The best part, however, is the smoke that "frames" her face.
Perfect DOF --- with emphasis put where it belongs --- on the interesting woman!!

This a a great shot. Love her look of concentration as she is enjoying her cigar. The image is sharp and focused, contrast is good. The eyes are drawn directly to the subject.
