Amazing capture of the leaf / butterfly. Love the color and nice background, like good frame, excellent clarity and good DOF. Great details and sharp focus. Good job. Luck.

I didn't know this. I learned something new today. I like that. I do see the lips but did not understand the walking part until I read the narrative. I looked real close and still cant see the head, but I am sure it is there. Your focus is spot on. Composition and lighting is great. Nice picture.

what a double treat this is!
First you have the camoflage which is perfect.
Then you have the lips of nature. What an unusual find.
Great offsetting to make this something special.

Interesting initial impact and creativity of subject. I would have never known it was a butterfly without reading your artist notes. Love the composition. Like the sharp, clear focus of the butterfly and what it's sitting on; and also the blurred background, making it pop.

OMG - I have never seen one of these. I would have never known they even existed. Thank you for this. How interesting. I did think it was a leaf prior to reading the notes. I'd love to see one in person. Very Cool!
As far as the review - all camera techs appear to be spot on with nice exposure and lighting. Detail on this interesting butterfly perfect due to your tack sharp focusing. Kudos. Kathy

A beautiful shot with great details that show the antennae, head, and legs of this remarkable butterfly. Excellent colors and outstanding cropping. Good luck in the contest.

Fred,
It nearly fooled me that it was indeed a dead leaf, only leaves don't have antennae. Wonderful composition, framing & focus with superb camera techniques with razor sharp focus.

Ok, this one grabbed my attention... I mean I still don't really know what ot say about art, but, bah! let's do this.
First of all, it has made my day brighter knowing this creature exists, and you have caught it in such a natural way that speaks volumes about it's individuality and personality.
A cautious creature that almost resembles a cartoon smile when it wings are closed.
This is an impressive shot, as I assume you did not have long to capture the creature in this state, yet you've perfectly shown how well it can hide and even left the background out of focus so we not distracted by anything back there.
great work, and good luck in the contest.
