Pretty indeed. And you have captured that perfectly. Very striking. Such super sharp detail. The composition is just right. The colors and the snow make a very interesting shot. Cheers.

Is his the one in back view a while ago.
An interesting initial impact. Harmonious colors. Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Excellent lighting, focusing & framing. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice picture of the dove. Feathers are nicely fluffed up showing the great colours. Well captured eyes and her feet holding on the perch. Beautiful tail, nice snowflakes.

This is very pretty Lori.
I love the background and the bit of snow that is falling.
The mourning dove is simply beautiful also.I think that this also would make a great Christmas card~

Wow, it was really coming down. It sure makes a great background for the wet mourning dove. Beautiful colors and fine composition.

When I was a boy my mother would throw grain out into the backyard during the winter for the birds and there was a flock of doves that visited there every day. Year after year she would feed the doves but the flock never grew to more than a dozen.

Then, in her 80s, mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and died in February. The day after her passing it snowed and all day long dove after dove would stop and rest on patio furniture, window sills, or the fence near her favorite feeding place. They would stop, each one individually, and look, as this dove does, at me as if to give their condolences. They all did this in spite of the grain I had thrown out for them earlier that day. I was moved emotionally and when I threw them a kiss they would fly away. Day after day I put grain out for them but no longer would they come. The house has sold and I have moved on in life but this picture brought back that incredible experience. Thanks for the memory.

You know it is strange that you would have this story to tell me as 3 years ago my daughter in law was dying here in my home from colon cancer at only 29...the mourning doves would come and perch on this post and often seemed to bow their little heads! After Katie passed away they didn't seem to do that anymore! I remember thinking it was like they were somehow sending their condolences! Thank you for sharing your story and I am so very sorry for your loss my friend! Thanks so much again for this review! Lilibug6
