What a beautiful painting. Did you do it entirely with digital ware, or was it free hand. Just a wonderful depiction of this Squiggy. So sorry you lost him.

Hi Linda. I do a quick sketch of whatever it is I want to paint, but trust me it is a very rough sketch. a traditonal artist I'm not. it would be hard to tell that this came out of the sketch I do LOL, I need to post one of my sketches sometime, you'd be surprised how awful I am LOL. the art program I use has the brushes to do the technique like fur and shading which makes it somuc easier, plus when I use a reference all I have to do to get the correct color is place my cursor over the pic and it picks up that color. I wish I had just a little abiltiy fro traditional but haven't been blessed with it. The eyes are always done with just a paint brush on the program and them blended but you get the drift. Thank you for the review Linda

This little one stole my heart. From those precious eyes to that adorable little heart shaped noes to her soft cuddly ears !! What a wonderful painting, I can understand why this would make our Grandson cry. I miss my dogs too and to have such a likeness to see everyday would do the same for me. Beautiful remembrance of a much loved 4 legged family member <3

thank you Kat for such a wonderful and kind review. she was one sweet little dog. I did a painting of our other dog Chaos who was a huge dog. It was always so funny to watch these two play. even with as big as Chaos was he was so gentle with her even though he looked like he was going to tear her apart. She was always faster than him so when we threw the ball for them she'd always get it first and run around him a couple of times showing off. I miss them both. thanks again Kat

She surely was a sweetheart. I am so sorry to hear abut her tragic end.
I think there is to much black in the picture. Try to crop half of the black space above the head. I think that would look better. I think also that the contrast between white and black is too strong. There is a loss of detail on the right side of the head. I think lighten the black to a dark gray and darken the dog might help. If not take a small round brush, pic the gray from the shadow at the paw, than add a few strokes starting in the middle of the forehead curving toward the ear in the way the hair falls naturally.

thanks so much for the advice Cleo but I already tried all of the hints you gave me and it just didn't look right. keeps seeming tome as if the painting isn't done, the more I add however the worse it gets. I always look forward to your advice so please keep it coming.

It happens to me as well, Often I start over fro Zero, but I loose patiance sometimes and put mine in the rotary files [trash can].
I surely keep coming. You will not be safe from my critics.

thank you so much for taking the time to review this work. She was a cute little thing. I'm so glad the black background worked. I tried different ones but nothing seemed to show her off like the black. Thank you for being so kind
