Oh wow, powerful capture. The focus grabs me right away with fabulous detail over the blooms. Fantastic color and lighting as well. Beautiful Rhododendron you have given us. Good luck in the contest and thanks for sharing!

Thank you. I was lucky the day I took this we had rain storms lasting several hours so it gave me added interest.

A beautiful flower and a very nice picture. The colors right after a rain are always outstanding. Excellent detail in the flower and the rain drops. Best of luck in the contest.

A refreshing capture with controlled illumination.

Visually soothing with fine floral features & wet textures.

Striking purplish pink against contrasting deep verdant foliage.

Best of luck in the contest!

I love close up flower photos and this is a beauty. The colors are perfect, to many times people try to add too much vibrance and saturation to their photos and they start looking fake. Great depth of field, the bokeh is great, and the water drops really add to the photo. A real eye catcher.

What a beautiful photo. You captured the details of the flowers down to the rain drops. The green background complements the flowers nicely.

Rainy days really help with enriching color, well as cloudy days. That worked very well here. You have very nice rich colors without pumping up the vibrancy and saturation with software. It's nice that the flowers behind the open bloom are not the same shade and the open ones; it gives the picture more depth and energy. Since this was taken with a cellphone I'm assuming you cropped this picture because cellphone pictures are usually long vertically. If you did crop it you did a fine job of that.

Thank you. Yes I did crop. I find that most of the photos I take with the phone need to be cropped because of the length

I just love how the rain can make everything look clean. These are beautiful flowers. I have never seen a Rhododendron but have heard of them. Are they all purple? Even on a cloudy day the lighting is great. The droplets on the flowers adds to the overall feeling of walking through a garden on a soggy day. Good luck!

Thank you. Those buds in the background will open the same way as those in front eventually giving it a large ball appearance with all the flowers opened.
