Beautiful Robin. Beautiful shot. The sunlight seems to bring to life the bird on his proud perch. The background adds just the right touch.

Nice shot of this Robin in your vines. I still have a few hanging around here too. I would have cropped a little more off the right side as my eyes are drawn to the blackness there instead of the bird itself. Oh and congrats on the new lens! Enjoy!

Thank you. It is going to be fun shooting things I haven't been able to get before.

The Robin looks lovely and you have pictured him so well. I especially like the fine high light captured in his eye, but also how lovely the light is falling on the bird. It is also posing for you in such a great way and is standing out from the softened background in an excellent way.
Your focus on the bird is spot on and sharp and it is really clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bird. I also think the exposure is perfect.
I do however think you have a bit too much negative space on the left, and would personally have cropped this side by a bit. Still this is a truly lovely and well taken photo and with a very good DOF. Seems like your new lens is working really well.

Thank you..I have had several other reviewers suggested cropping that left side. I just haven't had a chance to edit this yet.

It was only a suggestion Mary Eileen, and you are more than welcome for the review.

Robins are such amazing birds. Yes, common. But fun. We "adopted" one a few years back. It had fallen from it's nest. We cared for it until it was able to care for itself. It came back and nest by us for years.
Very nice image. Well framed and lit. Good focus and balance. Thank you for sharing.

This photo has great initial impact. The composition is intricate with the many shapes, angles and lines. The way the bird is perched, is also very interesting. He looks like he is listening intensely to his surroundings. The colors harmonize well. Great depth of field.

Looks like you have a good lens here. Image is really nice and crisp. The framing around the bird looks good, and the colours compliment. I like the DOF that you have used. Well done :-)
