Oh how cool. Capturing the explosion of these Mallards is a great action shot.

I did not notice the Coyote until you mentioned it. No wonder they scattered.

Great scene almost an abstract. Well done Grace ~ Steve

Thank you Steve! I didn't immediately notice him approaching on the scene - but the ducks sure did! It was all very quick, adn kind of sad, but that is nature's way.

What a chaos scene to capture......I enjoyed reading your artists notes and I like the storytelling with your photography. Good camera techniques and nice stop action shot. A good exposure and white balance.
I have seen the coyote in action they shake their victim to death. Outstanding photography and thanks for sharing!

This is an amazing capture. With all the birds flying in one place the top of the photo looks like an abstract. It looks like the coyote almost got one. Good action and very interesting to view. Focus and lighting are excellent. This would have been an excellent entry for the take offs and landing contest.

Thank you very much for your nice comments :) The coyote did get one, it was sad, but I guess it was necessary for the coyote to survive.

This needs six stars, so if I don't come back and update it next week, feel free to remind me! This is spectacular not only in its collage of colors, but that you caught all this action right at this precise moment!! This is extraordinary! Daphne O beron

Your comments are so nice! Thank you very much. Please don't use a six next week on this as it will not count towards anything since once you rate something the points don't change even if you change the rating, up or down. I appreciate your kind remarks about my work!

Thank you! The timing was amazing, and it all happened very quickly. The coyote did actually get one of the poor ducks!

That must have been one hell of a noicy scene! One can see the commotion from the picture! You have shot it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Thank you very much Fred! I couldn't believe how quickly this took place and you are right, if I had been there two minutes later I would not have it. Thank you for the high rating :)

Grace,
A brilliant stop action picture of this flock of Mallards taking to the air it the hope of escaping the jaws of the Coyote chasing them in the hope of a "Free" lunch. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
