This is stunning. I say it was a good decision to get rid of all other distractions. When I first saw this it was hard for me to believe this was actually in water. Then I looked at the larger photo and saw where the water and the horns met and could see the slight disturbance in the water. Normally I wouldn't give a 6 for bones, but the contrast and reflection look so clear. You have taken something a bit gory into a beautiful image.

Very well focused, the image is sharp and clear, exposure is well managed, nice detail is easily seen on every part of the deer skull, the reflection gives an almost double view, I like how clear the black water is ! I see good variations of tone in this black and white image. Well composed and presented!
