This is such an amazing shot that you captured! I've never in my life seen such a clear, focused shot of an insect. The detail is also on point. It is a perfect picture.

That's a delightfully Out of the Ordinary picture,my friend,as it's subject is a colorful Insect rather than one of the 'usual subjects' that seem to show up in just about every 'nature & wildlife' image that gets posted here on FAR! : )

Wow. I know how tiny these hover flies are and you have put this one on a scale that shows all the details. Here in Tennessee, U.S. we call these "Good News Bees" as they make a pleasant sound when hovering close to the ear.
Great focus and detail with colors that are true. The stripes are complimentary with the background. The diagonal stem adds a nice bit of drama to the image. Can see no way to improve on this one.

Love this little Hoverfly! Every bit of hi is sharp and you can see iridescence in the wings. You might not think a yellow background would work with this little fellow but it does! Love the way he stands out. I would give this a six if I had one left. I think this is an excellent contender for the macro contest! Good Luck! :o) Helvi

I really like this macro photo, and mostly because of the simplicity and the bright yellow and green hues of the background. I also like the diagonal placement of the twig the insect is sitting on, and how well it is standing out from the background.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details both in the wings and the body of the insect, and the exposure is perfect.
The format and framing could not have been better, and the insect has got a very good placement off to the left. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.
