Very good job capturing the essence of the season. What I like about this is the Cardinal is portrayed with a great personality or attitude of some sort. Obviously he fits well in the environment.

I was beginning to wonder if red birds flew closer to a warmer climate. I like the contrast of the snow and the bird. I believe the white is bringing out the color of the birdl

Such a great image and powerful red colour pop in the white snow and blurred background. Beauty in simplicity.
Would make a great Christmas Card image!
Lovely composition and marvellous clarity and focus on the Cardinal and feathers. Like how you can see it snowing. A pleasure to view!

Beautiful photograph of a Cardinal with the white snow in the scene. Natural colors and tones in the scene. Good lighting, nice detail, nice soft bokeh, sharp focus, good DoF, and well balanced photo and nicely composed in the frame. Overall, a very Beautiful Wildlife Photograph, well done!

A nice profile of this beautiful specimen. I like the erect crest and the brilliant eye. A fine exposure for the snow and great colors.

Now THIS is the color I'm used to seeing on a cardinal. Such a bold, bright red, looking especially good against the snow. I think it's cool that their beaks are red too. Nice shot!

So sorry if I rated this lower. Yes I went back in and updated to five. Thanks for letting me know. :)

No problem at all Eileen. I figured it was meant to be a five because I think you would have said what I should do to make it a five :) I didn't take it personally. I know there is always room for improvement!

The white of the snow emphasizes the red indeed notably.. The photo is focused and perfectly exposed. Light and colors are realistic. The Cardinal is excellently placed into the frame. The composition is balanced.
