Pat,
A beautiful scene at Portage showing the Pacer River with it's edges starting to ice ver leaves some clear water in the centre the dark Pines lining the far bank seem to be backlit by the dying rays of the setting sun that makes the undergowth behind them glow in the light the sky above the horizon painted gold by the sun with grey clouds floating over head some struggling to rise over the snow capped mountain's rising up from the river. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Like fire and ice. The glow of the weeds at the opposite shore is fascinating. The photo is excellent focused and exposed. The colors are fascinating. The landscape is gripping, demanding attention for its beauty. The panorama framing is perfect. The composition is balanced.

This is one of those rare photos that I think that are just top of the line, professional landscape photos I would see in a magazine. Everything about it says ideal landscape: the angles of the mountains on the side, your usage of thirds as design elements, the darkness of the middle ground contrasting with the brightness of the sky. This is really awesome, and seeing photos like these continues to inspire me to paint landscapes. The frozen lake on the bottom breaks away from the cliche photos that involve summertime scenes with mountains and lakes, and the way the blues come together that contrast with the subtle yellow hues on the horizon come in perfectly. How much of this photo was edited? Seeing scenes like these reminds me of how this wasn't made by chance, but by a Creator.

This is one of those rare photos that I think that are just top of the line, professional landscape photos I would see in a magazine. Here we go again - this is so fantastic in color range and so unusual in ambiance - so attractive with such a great visual impact that is even more then 6* worth
this is a dream and a dream land shot - a blessing to look at it and must have been a double blessing to experience it
