I thought this was a photo. You have the knack to paint just like a photo. Great hair. Perfect coloring and shading. I like the mouth you have. It fits the painting.

Thank you, kind artist friend. I noted you won a place with one of your works and I hope I congratulated you because I sure meant too. Yes some of my drawings, especially with portraits, I do them in this style but hope to do some separately. I think certain ways of doing kinda get bred in us, however. I do like realism in drawing, painting. Thanks again.

You are right. I like a challenge of finding a subject that I never photographed before. Or, finding a subject that I have photographed before and doing something different with it. That keeps me on my toes. Sometimes I find a different angle to it or maybe not. Thanks so much my friend.

Thank you so much. Appreciate it. Did it in down most way in acrylic, but couldn't get the mouth to suit me, so I scanned it in, got it fine and finishedit, added/drew border and background, necklace in PhotoShop.

The facial of this portrait is done well. Her proportions are correct. Her hair has nice depth and details but seems odd against the bright flat pink in the background. Her anatomy doesn't quite right where her arm is concerned, it doesn't seem to fit on her body properly, it makes it hard for the viewer to see the angle of her shoulders. The border would have worked if it went all the way around, here it seems to let our eyes wander to the arm, it's unbalanced. The colours seem to fight for attention, the dark outer part of the draws my eye to it rather than her facial. Try softening the edges of it some next time.

Thank you. I'll try to that when I go back to the original. It doesn't have a border, I don't think as it is on artists ampersand panel, I think my first acrylic and first on that surface. So I am learning.

This is special. It's made for the grandchild and there is a beautiful emotion at play. This portrait in acrylic has come out exceedingly well and it should spur you to do more!! Yes, it does give a photographic feel and I love that L shaped framing. Kudos and best wishes for the contest
