I have been to venice twice just for a day though one was going on a cruise the next day,so no how great it is a place to take photos,was this taken from the rialto bridge,i took loads of photos while on a canal boat and will never forget that,thanks for entering contest...Brian

A beautiful picture of the palaces along the canal in Venice with poles at their entrances to tie up Gondolas or other boats. The sunlit bell tower in the centre draws the eye to it the near clear blue sky creates a beautiful backdrop. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

I love Venice and the beauty of it's architecture. Great shot and composition. The shadow takes away from the buildings in a small way. However you cannot always pick and choose the time of day to shoot. Good clarity. All the best in the contest!

When it comes to architecture, you can't really go wrong in Venice, it's such a beautiful place! Nice photo and quite a tricky shot with the buildings being half in light half in shadow, but you've handled it well. I know you've stated there was no editing, but it does look a little oversaturated in places, especially on the cluster of boats, which would have been worth toning down a little. Otherwise a good shot, and nicely presented. Good luck in the contest.
