Poor fly. It doesn't stand a chance against this monster. What I especially like about this image is the limited color pallet, and also your very good attention to details.

You have also used high lights really well, and both the spider and the fly are standing out well from the neutral background.

When it comes to the composition, I think the framing is a bit too tight, but appreciate that this might be a matter of taste. All together a well done pastel, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Amazing scene. I really love the clarity of textures and patterns. Well choice of realistic colors, too. This looks like a magnificent macro photo, that made me conclude that you have an excellent drawing and painting techniques and skill. Potential winner and deserves a six.
