This is a rather nice abstract painting in pastel. I like the colors and work coming down even more than the flowers. The one largest flower is actually pretty. Paint in the little parts of black on the right side and at the bottom. You did it girl. This is very nice, and especially for you first. I knew you could. We talked about how messy they can be but this is very lovely.

Pretty poppies, Lise. I have recently purchased pastels and have yet to create anything with them! Did you use your fingers or a brush? The highlights are a nice touch. A few more shadows inside the flower would create more depth. Using a greenish background is a nice contrast!

oh me too, I am never chosen, but hey keep trying, I actually used only the side of the chalk, and a kitchen sponge to smooth out the underneath colours, yep, lol,, my first time trying this medium

For being your first time working with pastels I think that you did a great job. I am kind of set in my own way and afraid to try something new but I know that I need to expand because I see a lot of beautiful work from other artists as they do traditional art work which I have found very fastinating. For being your first time working with pastels I think that you did a great job. The colours and the composition look OK. However, the picture is blurred and not cropped and formatted properly. I would suggest that you fix these shortcomings and repost for attracting more eye balls.
