The partly cloudy sky is a perfect topper above. Your rule of thirds is spot on and the timing and exposure is a great photo op. Love it!

A spectacular picture of the Sunset's afterglow in Resurrection Bay. The red, orange & gold colours in the sky are reflected on the glistening surface of the water in the bay, framed by the snow capped mountains in the background & the rushes growing along the shoreline in the foreground.. beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

This is what a photograph of a sunset should look like Pat - no visual trace of the sun, just a glowing sky. And in this case a little extra treat of a breath-taking water feature, outstanding.
All the camera technical parameters are spot on perfect. The contrast between sky/water and mountains is awesome.
I will wager that no more than a millisecond after the shutter released this view was gone.
