What a wonderful job you have done with this. It is mystifying to say the least. This almost looks like a character you would see in a Disney Cartoon movie! Excellent colour structure and detail. Your use of the Artrage program has really worked well with your technique for the presentaiton. There is something about the eyes that really grabs the viewer.

Great title and wonderful story. What a great use of color and the emotions behind this painting shows so well. the colors are bold and strongly displayed. The expression in the eyes is deep. This is a dramatic piece of art with an emotional impact. Great job, and presentation.Armymom

I am giving you this top star rating for simply capturing the dread in this face of this person. I also like how you allow the subject matter to be off set in the painting to create interest but with such a setting you can not forget that the other side needs to bear something to balance the color out... maybe just a faded candle with a flicker of light having the orange flame. But this my opinion and taste and might be just fine for someone else. The strength of the message in this is what makes it above average. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for your throughout review. I appreciate your input very much and will think about it but a candle doesn't do it for me. The warm candle light of romance and freedom just doesn't goes along with the horrors of the burning city. It would look as if the candle caused the fire and not the fighting of war.

The initial impact of your piece from an artistic stand point is very dramatic but your notes just polish off the presentation for me because if for one minute we doubted the message you are spreading with your artwork we would be certainly set straight by your poignant words. The composition is really well thought out with the flames licking at her face. There is balance in the piece as well as good colour harmony I like the way the warm orange tones of the fire and her hair are complimented by the blue in her eye, it is a subtle effect but it really works to draw you to the sorrow in her eyes. Her face is smooth but she wears the expression of one who has seen way too much for her young life. Your story has been well received in this painting. Your skill at telling a story as well as translating it with great technique are evident in this work. Visually this is a very strong piece. Thank you for sharing a very personal piece and good luck with your entry. Crystal

I tell my wife that all the time - Let's make Love and not war. Nice work however, men have been asking themselfs that for years and years. This face does look like it knows pain real well if that is at all possible.

This is an excellent work for the composition. Yes love will die as this picture so clearly shows. I like the way one eye sees the flame burning her hair, and the other eye is too distressed to care. This hits the viewer in the gut, and that is what it should do. Very good.
