Not sure what you are trying to accomplish but she sure looks like a girl.
If you are trying to show a blond saying, "I am not sure I believe you, but I am interested in hearing more".
You get six stars!
If you are trying to create a perfect image of a real person, then the eyes are a bit too big, not quite enough chin,
accentuate cheek bones a little more, most real people don't have perfect oval shapes and the hair, as presented, is almost fur like.
Now, I like her just the way she is because to me digital art is a bit of an exaggeration of real life to make a point.
Plus, I want to convince her to believe me!

Hi, Jim, and thank you. No, I wasn't going for reality...yet :) Just going for the basics first. I do the eyes larger on purpose, and I will eventually redo her hair, it's bothering me too. I have an idea to do it in a different and maybe easier way. Again, thank you so much for your help. Just for reality's sake, I know that peoples faces are not the same on both sides, but when I try to paint them to look more real, it drives me wacko when things are not even. It's like a painting always hanging lopsided on the wall...LOL!!

I think eyes are 90% of expression and feelings. Your larger than life eyes gives you the opportunity to make that expression.
Non semetric faces are probably why, when you paint Elvis Presley the disimilar facial qualities are overlooked because of recognition and when you paint John Doe his face looks distorted.

Totally different, a startling portrait. I think this is a great composition, I guess those huge eyes drew me to to her.

I don't think you need to but keep practicing those girls.

Badger.

Thank you so very very much for the wonderful review, Badger! My daughter has big beautiful eyes...a very light blue :) Although this is not an attempt to paint my daughter, I always seem to paint people with larger eyes, especially girls. Again, thank you!!

Thank you so very much, Jerry. My daughter has the biggest blue eyes ever. That's probably why I always paint people with larger eyes than normal. :) Again, thank you!!

Your 'practice' work is better than a lot of the work others post a their 'best'.

The large eyes give this sort of a caricature look rather than a realistic portrait, but she is beautiful nonetheless !

I don't know why you say that you still have not got it yet be
cause it looks great to me!Her
eyes are really beautiful,I love the hair and there is only one thing about it that is distracting and that is her neck
where the Adam's apple is.It almost makes me think of one of the pages that rookies in a police academy shoot at and try to hit that spot!!The presentation is great with the white surrounding her.Yoi're too hard on yourself.Touch up the bullseye and you'll have a perfect girl .
Gret work as always Shawn~

I blurred that area out more and think is does look better now. Thank you, Angel. It's always a great help to have someone else look at something, especially in trying to do people. I would never make a good portrait artist though because I can't look at a photo and paint what I see. I get too frustrated, and can't be bothered with all the measurements it takes to make a portrait. Again, thank you so much for the great review and tip :)

Good rendering. Depends on what your going for here, if realism you need to choose a different lighting aspect to show off the curves in the nose, cheeks and the area's around the eyes, which for realism are way too big. However if your going for a stylized gaming girl then your getting it down pretty well I'd say. The highlights on the hair might be more consistently straight, giving a sheen where light would fall naturally. Good job, looking forward to seeing more.

Thank you so much, DD! You should know me by now...lol. I never paint for realism, I just do the best I can trying to learn the techniques of just getting them to look human. People and animals are hard for me, and I can't learn 'less I keep trying. Again, thank you!!

So what you are practicing? Is this a self portrait and you are just trying on different hairstyles, lol. Very nicely down Shawn. The background that you have chosen really makes this portrait pop and draw the eye to the center of it. I think her head may be a little large for the body if I had to be picky. Shirley

Something was bothering me about her, and maybe that's what it is. Let me go back and see if I can shrink her head a little...lol. Thanks so much, Shirley :) It may be easier to bring her shoulders out a little.
