I agree with you totally. There are some stupid people out there but not only stupid, just plain ignorant! Having said that, the fire does make for an interesting shot. Shows you just how quickly a fire can get started and develop into a major problem. On the left hand side of the frame the sky looks as though it is on fire. Given the circumstances (heat and smoke) you have taken a very good shot. Just a pity the area in the right hand side of the frame is totally blown out.

Awesome find and capture. Focus is sharp. Composition is very good. Lighting and colors are good. Emotional tone is strong.

This picture really captures the size of this fire. Excellent point of view. The peaceful marine setting seems like it could provide some relief, lovely tranquility with some beautiful color in the foreground. Very interesting picture. Nice job.

Smoking and failure to dispose properly of the waste is pure human stupidity. Fire in general is not a result of human stupidity, but particular unwanted, uncontrolled fires certainly can be. Your dramatic shot demonstrates this well. Love the flame-tinted smoke billow.

i agree just like in daytona beach they put a no smoking ban on the beach but u can drive ur car on there. the car puts out more carbon dioxide than a cigerette does..we r smart creatures aint we? evil grin. the clarity is great! the capture of the light is great! the angle of the shot of the fire and surroundings is great! overall great job!

Oh, wow. This appears to be such a big fire. The entire region on the other side of the mountain appears on fire. This may be due to wind effect, but the scale of the fire appear so big. I like an interaction with the bright fire with dark clouds. Thank you for sharing.

Man's doing is his undoing...
Excellent capture of the fire in progress reaching the 5th alarm.
Look what a cigarette butt can do!
The foreground is still interesting despite the fire...
The horizon is still leveled despite the fire.
The color of the smoke is not so dark indicating that there are no chemicals burning up.
Thanks for sharing.

I think we ought to start a photo contest STUPIDITY OF MAN. Gracious me this is such an emotive photo and reading your notes I became angry.

This is one time where I think a blow out works to enhance the image and that blank white spot in the upper right hand side accentuates the smoke billowing in hues of red hot fire.

Was this taken out of you window, you summer home Fred? It's a good catch and a good entry to the competition.

Yes it is a catastrophie when this happens not to mention the loss to nature and wildlife. Seen it many times in the hills in Scotland. Very well caught and portrayed here. good luck in the contest
