I am so happy that I had a six star rating for this work.I do love this work very much.I like the Black & White composition.I
believe that B&W sometimes does
present the work much clearer.
Technique in creating this image
is outstanding and I like the
layering that you did.
Best of luck to you~

Thank you, I value your attentive review very much and I grateful for the exceptional rating. I agree, black and white often shows things more clear. We are sometimes very easily distracted by beauty of color.

It was my pleasure! I like work that tells a story. So many just glance but I try to figure out what the artist is saying. You've got my vote!

Thank you very much for 'reading' my story and understanding it in dept. This is the greatest award for an artist. Thank YOU!!!

Very profound and so right on with the meaning of this work. Getting old can be so difficult, and fearful if one knows what the alternative will be at some point. I volunteered at a nursing him for 15 years and grew to have such a love for and heart for, the elderly. Many have no one or almost no one. Wish you well in the contest. Perfect entry, Touching work!

HOLY GUACAMOLE, you have a sure fire winner here.

The concept hit me between the eyes and as we all approach the "discarded" zone of our lives this will resonate stronger for some than others.

Highly creative, highly emotive, and I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU for your notes. I'm at point of struggling to learn (the story of my life) PS techniques such as you applied here so darned skillfully.

I know you want constructive criticism...the only bothersome aspect of this image is that very black triangular shape beneath the chair, against that pure white it really throws the visual balance off and seems to be the primary focus for my eyes....but maybe not for others.

This is going to do very very very very well in the contest.

Thank you again for posting this arresting image.

Thank you! I value your attentive and throughout review and your input highly.
I have to look at the triangle. It is stuffing material from the broken seat. Since I know what it is, it did not bother me; but it may bother others

It is always nice to see alternate approaches. The concept really speaks here.I also like the way the technology is used to create a telling image. Good luck in the contest!

Beautiful capture! Out with the old and in with the new. I like how you have shown this. Old furniture, old people discarded because the expiration date has passed. Great job!

Outstanding creativity and craftsmanship. The feeling of the scene is timeless. The aged lady looking into the past with many stories while sitting in this chair. The writing about discard...is so appropriate. The Conversion to b/w helps the scene to age as it compounds the effects of time passing for the lady in the scene.

You were very successful. Not only in the message but in the terrific execution. The choice of black and white not only reinforces the message, but adds a richness to the image.Very good work.
Thanks

I really studied this and it is pretty remarkable! The part that really got to me was the faces of the elderly! How sad that society really does often discard the elderly like they have lost their value! A very sad and foolish thing to do! This is very well done! Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest!

Thank you very much for your deep thought review and your wishes.
Yes, it is very sad if society discards people. Nevertheless it happens daily that not only the elderly, but people of any age, even children, are discarded by modern societies like broken furniture. I tried to make aware of this problem with my creation.

Excellent, excellent work! It indeed tells a sad but all too familiar story, the story of our throw away society. The b/w was a perfect choice to represent how much disregard that many have for what life has provided. Kudos:)

Great photo. Very thought/provoking and meaningful. Wonder who used to sit in that chair, and how long it has been.
