I love the eyes here and projecting my humanness on to the duck would not be fair HOWEVER it is what an artist captures in a painting that raises the question "i wonder what is going on in the mind of the subject" That is what makes this well crafted photo so good and so not pedestrian.

Very interesting capture of the duck, beautiful focus on her eye clearly seeing the red circle around it. The details are also excellent in the colours of the beak. Nice details in feathers, overall great shot.
