Contrast between the blue and green works well,but feel the green part overpowers the tiny flower,maybe that was what you were after,think I would trim some of the left and right in this...Brian

It is a beautiful little bloom, and the big green leaves offer a perfect background. I so much like the simplicity and limited color pallet. The shadows are giving so much life to this photo.
Your focus on the bloom was spot on and sharp showing really clear and well defined details, and the exposure is perfect.
I also like the format and the framing, and the placement of the bloom off to the right. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

It looks like a pickerel weed which grows in shallow water and has these wonderful blooms in late spring. I have seen the hummingbirds amongst them and they are quite popular with the bees. A nicely composed image with great colors.
