I love it when surprises happen like that. Getting a shot with the fish in his mouth is perfect for telling a story. Great title too.

I've never seen this type of kingfisher before, is it a similar size to our standard blue and orange one?
You've captured it very well and with a fish in his beak to boot! The lovely evening light really adds to the overall photo too.
Focus, dof, exposure and composition are all top notch, and I love that his head I'd turned showing off the fish, beak and eye.

Thanks so so very much Charlotte! This is the only one that I know of that is here in Alaska, they are about 11 or 12 inches tall , a bit larger then out Steller?s Jay birds I appreciate your awesome review and I am honored by your six stars!

Hi Pat, you captured a really nice image of this Kingfisher and the fish in its mouth as well! I like both the lighting and focus. Both Kingfisher and fish have superb lighting and focus. Love the way the head is turned so we can see the sparkle in the Kingfisher's eye. Love how there are no distractions in the shot. This really is a beautiful capture My Friend!
