A great shot captured with good long DOF and sharp clarity, showing the long, quiet and icy/snowy road as it slowly heads down from your well chosen raised vantage point. The trees and fence on the left create a good starting setting, with the untouched snow balancing delicately on the branches and fence. The sense of scale and proportion is captured brilliantly as the frosty but (by the looks of it) slightly more protected trees on the right lead us down to the misty corner, with the snow obscuring the view slightly with the car and trailer (?) not going anywhere in a hurry, and the cabin hiding on the left a reminder of the impact it has on our shelter too! A great shot where the thin layer of snow really touches every possible corner, great piece and well done :)

HI Jack thanks so much for sharing this awesome photo of the snow blanketed road that passes by your home.. Love the setting .. It is such a peaceful rural scene that brings joy to my thoughts. Appreciate the story that accompanies your picture. Love the lining of trees along the roadside.. all nicely tinged with that sheeting of white snow.. The create a great frame around the winding road that seems to disappear into the background.. great depth of field and I love the focus in the foreground that is sharp and clear contrasting with the more muted misty effect in the background.. makes the scene have a real mystical aura surrounding it. The fence line on the left gives a nice feel of homeliness .. the hard work of the farmers who must constantly upkeep their fences to keep in the animals and keep out the undesirable unwanted guests that survey the area from time to time. Even the addition of the power poles and the draped appearance of the wiring gives an impression of human existence within this unpopulated country scene. I can see a truck parked up on the right at the bend.. Is that yours... The house on the left tucked in around the tree line gives a good contrast of shape amid the tall standing trunks of the trees. The tyre tracks in the snow reveal someone or something has managed to use the road even under such snow packed conditions.. Maybe it was from some of the young kids who gather speed doing what they think is fun.... I used to live in a remote country area myself and though we were never cut off from the world due to snowfall. we were cut off due to flooding rivers and creeks. Your scene has brought many wonderful memories to mind .. so thanks for sharing a part of your world.. loved reviewing this tranquil place you call home. cheers mel

A beautiful S curve that defines this well composed image. I like the white balance that gives you such pleasant warm tones. The depth of field is excellent and the details along the road are nicely shown.

This image does capture the cold gray feel of a snowy day. Flat and bland light, wet and dank falling snow. The curving road leads us through this very well. The main leading line is mimicked by other objects on either side. Framing hols us in the picture. In the grayness there is still a clarity to the image. Well seen and taken.
