I'd love to have that lens. Is it an L series? Must be fantastic to use. You've done a good job with it here. Good focus and clarity, good colour and light. I especially like the composition, with the swan's neck arching into the water and creating the spread of ripples. Nicely done.

Thanks, Diamond! No, my Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM is not an L series lens, but nonetheless really gets the job done for me and is a favored Canon lens in my collection. You have my appreciation for taking the time to lend your insights into the impressions of this nature shot! Kindest Regards. Lisa

i think lisa this is your best yet of these swans, really good detail in this, and the contrast between the rich blue water and the black swan is quite good, angle of the swan+the ripples is perfect, fine shot this...brian

Hi Lisa
Another of those lovely black swans.
Caught at that lovely moment when the ripples capture the picture so nicely.
Lovely colors and the blue just fading away.
The head of the swan is a delight to look at.
This can only be the big six.
I don't know why but for the second time trying to give you a six it does not allow it to happen and I have got four of them left. Maybe it is because you already have got a six for this...Don

Such an apt title for such a wonderful image. The blue of the water and the movement as the swan swirls, the concentric circles move outward. I love the black swan, the neck almost like a pointer leading the eye. thanks for sharing

This is so much stronger than a previous shot I reviewed from this series-here the colours and shapes are working and the composition is interesting and unique-the water shapes enhance the whole frame-well done

This private pond has the look of a swimming pool it is so clean, clear and blue. The swan has a good life and rewards us with his beauty and elegance. The ripple he makes on the water makes the light dance upon it and adds motion, energy and interest. The swan himself is photographed with clarity and an eye for the artistic. Another great capture!

I have always been partial to black swans. This photo captures dual color contrasts - the red and black and the blue and black. The clarity showing the detail of the eye is very good. I would have liked to have seen more of the reflection, however the rings of the stirred water move well with the curvature of the neck. Very nice.
