It reminds me so much of Van Gogh in color and style - so much in feeling and raw, striking color.
I first thought this was crayon until reading your notes. And it is very much in keeping with your thoughts on strength, hope and perseverance.

Nice narrative, colorful, and I like the solid blue back ground. The only thing is the initial impact does not hold the viewer's attention long. The narrative adds to the picture because of the meaning.
