Wow - talk about scale! An incredible head on shot that truly gives one the sense of size. The high-rises are morphing the littler buildings off the street. The portrait presentation was definitely the way to go here. Great detail, nice color - a very impressive image. Kathy

yes, I imagine the skyline of Manhattao n must be pretty spectacular, we see much of it on films- I have this thing that one way I will go to New York and order a pastrami and rye, like my favourite actor. The shadow is particularly interesting. I have a total distrust of psychiatrists and a great dislike for a lot of those over here, so it will be interesting for me to view your work..without a jaundiced eye.

I don't like psychiatrists much either--too closed and aloof for me so I don't blame you. But they are diverse and human.
But just around the corner from where I live is Sarge's Deli which has been here since the 20's open 24 hours, and they serve the best gigantic pastrami on rye that you will ever have. So if you come to NYC, LMK and I will meet for a sandwich or show you my favorite buildings. Paula

definitely- psychiatrists frighten me, as they seem to be able to say anything and do anything and get away with it, as long as they have a title or phrase for it--

I'm impressed with how much you've managed to show in this photo. The color and balance is very nice. I like how it shows the old and new architecture together. The blue sky sets the scene well for the light colored buildings.

Interesting shot! Yes. The landscape of every city in the world is changed with the advent of technology. But the Nature is plundered in the bargain!
This is a lovely shot of the modern architecture! You have framed it well. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good luck!

Artist,
This is an amazing shot of the City and an interesting
view of Lower Manhattan. How great you were fortunate
enough to have the blue sky for a backdrop. I think
every place looks better with a blue sky.
It definitely makes for a great entry for the contest
and you did a fantastic job of catching all the tall
buildings along with the lower buildings to give
a full view.

Blue sky days are special here, and great for photography. Thanks

This picture has almost and optical illusion effect to it if you stare at it for too long, which I obviously did! All the different angles and lines really draw the eye across every aspect of the picture and the impressive curve of the building at 8 Spruce St is really well captured.

My son is an architect. He would be interested in this photo. The shot captures the total impact of man on his environment. We have not been back to NYC since 9/11. Your sharp focus and excellent lighting has captured the scene perfectly. Good Luck on contest.

Did you live in NYC then? It was pretty scary that fall here. Everyone knows it will happen again here but we try not to think about it so much. But these super tall high rises I think are very tempting to knock down.

Beautiful photograph of such an elegant urban landscape! Incredible focus and clarity of the skyscrapers; you've captured a variety of excellent details and different textures in the buildings. Great composition although a little more of the sky at the top could probably be shown. Otherwise, good contrast and a spectacular view. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful photograph and best of luck in the contest!
