I believe we have an All Time Best here! I like how you did this in black and white, it makes the scene more dramatic, almost like the one monkey is performing a 'death scene'. Very artistic shot!

Another fabulous image Grace.
Love the various expressions and interesting viewpoint.
Your title is perfect, and this would've been a beautiful entry in a black and white contest.
Perfect timing of another great
Shot!

Amusing pose with the fine facial details and smooth hair textures.
He's the padre de familia watching his sleeping mate...
Great story telling factor.
Best of luck in the contest!
Thanks for sharing...

Grace,
A beautiful picture of this pair of Colobus Monkeys the one on the right pretending to be asleep while the other whispers sweet nothings in to it's ear. Beautiful composition framing and soft natural lighting taken with superb camera & editing techniques and sharp focus.

I absolutely love this photo! It looks like a mother trying to wake her child up repeatedly, and he's not budging... very cute. Amazing detail in their features! Love the black and white. Great job!

I like your choice of black and white. It eliminates the unwanted details and distruction. The photo looks very tragic to me for some reasons. Vivid face expression! Perfectly cropped and adjusted! Great work, Grace!!!

Quite an atmospheric nature shot posted here! Can't blame them for not wanting to touch the tainted mainland below them!! Your fine image is well composed, sharp with good exposure. Well done!

Based on your well detailed description, I'm wondering if these monkeys may be related in some way to Koala Bears. They seem to have similar digestive system and habits. The photo is nice and sharp and captures the details very well. The black and white treatment enhances the mood. Nicely done, Grace.

Thank you! I don't think they are related. Koalas are marsupials like kangaroos and opossums.

Great initial impact. Splendid portrait making for a great composition. The light and shadows make it a very dramatic scene, one that evokes pathos, wonder and awe to the viewer. It almost reminds me of Romeo and Juliet the way the one on the left is hovering over the one laying down with its mouth open. It looks like that one has given up on life, and the one hovering over it, adores it and is concerned.

Zoo photography can be very challenging. You succeeded here! While the monkeys don't look particularly happy, you have presented an honest portrayal of them. Excellent lighting and cropping, and the black-and-white treatments suits the subjects well.
