Hey old friend! Just thought I would stop by and say 'Hi'! I'm glad to see you are doing so well with your mixed-media photos (#1 !!!). This is a real beauty, and I'd give it 6 stars but I'm not a premium member. Keep up the good work! - Dave

HEY Dave! Funny, I was just thinking about you the other day. Good to hear from you. Yes I have been rather active on here. I am just being more creative and writing some poetry. Some of the poems turned out pretty well. Not trying to be number one. It is just by accident that is where the photos rank.
I hope all is well and that you and your family is safe and healthy.
Please try to keep in touch David ~ Steve

I'm still in a dry spell. I have a couple of decent pieces of art, but a total blank when it comes to poems. I still check in here several times a week, but I don't miss the posting, reviewing, and replying. We are staying as safe as possible - we just go out for groceries and fast food or curb-side pickup, wearing a mask always. Hope you are staying safe too.

Hey Dave. Yes we are staying safe.
We will be going to Mexico in November and will stay at least 9 months. There will be peace and quiet and No drama.
I can relate to dry spell. I have had many. I think that is a good thing. Actually our creative mind is taking a breather. It needs it.
It will quietly return when the time is right.
Just as an FYI: Some people on FAR liked my photos and poetry and made a web site for me. I have added some photos and poetry/prose . If you are interested go to:

I used a different name just because I think it is a cool name from a TV series "Black List".
Anyway, hang in there my friend. All will be well ~ Steve

Very nice poems and photos Steve! I had to remove the space in your url to get it to work, but I did find the site.

Oh my goodness, what have you done to this gorgeous hibiscus? LOL.......
I wanted to give you a six for being so creative, and because I like keeping you on top, but since I know now you're going to be relieved of the number one spot....I decided to give it a five... Lol ....
And besides... I would've made it splash or splatter!
Now that wasn't right,... just havin some fun with you my
Brilliant FS, I really like what you've done here... very artsy...
Something that gives me inspiration...Wow, see how well we work together ....
Oooh LaLa......

This is actually a Tulip. I worked some real magic to make this look like a Hibiscus : )
Thank you for your review and in helping me to reach number 2. I feel better already lol.

This is wild. Not sure what I am looking at but that is probably just me. Let's get to the technical aspects of the scene. It is crisp, bright, rich red colors and an explosion of light, lines and curves. The central white mass bring focus to the whole scene. To say that is interesting...it is. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for your review. I am not sure of the name of this flower. I know that they are big and red and have that stamen sticking out in the center. I gave it an oiled abstract look to make it different. Thank you again.

Your mixed media is a very impressive. Although, the features of the flower are preserved, the creation has a surreal touch. It looks like something else. I see an underwater scenery. A creature with white hair seems to crawl over silky aquatic plants. I like that the almost the entire frame is filled with the red silk. Your creation is elegant. The colors are appealing. The mixed media is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.
