I especially like the simplicity of this photo, and also the all black background. It makes the colorful leaf stand out in an excellent way. It is also lovely the way the light is falling on it, and that we can see the colors of both sides.
Your focus was spot on and sharp, and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the leaf. The colors are crisp and clear.
The format you have cropped the photo into is working well, and so is the placement of the leaf within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

It is interesting in that it is rolled. The veining in the larger rolled/open part are indeed clear and the red color is pretty. The dark color as background does give focus to the work. Not the most beautiful leaf but indeed different.
