Great capture of this speedy will critter. However, my 6 stars come in on the post-production work. Fabulous, creative and technically put together. The black background makes the shot jump off the screen. Your cmaera skills are also evident as you caught him in mid-air and almost stopped his wing beats.

Jody this is the most artistic Hummingbird capture I have ever seen - seriously! Nearly all Hummingbird takes brag about how much detail there is in the wings, since that is the gold standard for tech savvy shooters, like me. This shot raises that bar.
This shot has gobs of technical merit - just look at those droplets. Converting to B&W highlighted the drops wonderfully and made them stand out so well.
Super visual impact from a very well crafted and thoughtfully presented capture, Kudos... Bob

Those feed droplets add to the female humming bird. Her reflection, in larger size, is rather nice too. This is rather fine work in black and white, or grey scale. I would love to see this in color as well.

Your photo is so well taken, these birds are so small, that to get that much detail while in flight is incredible! Yes I can see the water drops clearly! Well done!
