For a first attempt this is not a bad take at all Susan. My first foray in this genre of photography resulted in one shot of several in which the viewer could with a little imagination see the dragonfly.

Your post capture efforts contribute much for the overall fine eye appeal this take has. I particularly like the mirror effect of the dragonfly.

Overall nice shot... Bob

    Bob,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on the Northern emerald dragonfly busy laying eggs in the water which allowed me to get this shot as she stayed in the same spot so I could focus on it. If I had a DSLR Camera I might have got a better image???

This is a beautiful shot of nature showing the dragon fly in the pond. You framed it well, and the light, shadows, colours, and composition worked well. Good effort!

Susan, this shot is difficult to discern the dragonfly. I think to many like colors and reflections off the water hinder the definition of the insect.

Hi Susan, this image of "Northern Emerald Dragonfly " has good colours, clarity and an interesting bubble effect. The reflections add to the shot. Always like the framing like it's ready to hang on the wall and your knowledge of common names and Latin. Well done and thanks for sharing :-)

A reasonable nature image posted here! Your composition captures an interesting scene. Unfortunately it is over exposed so that your dragonfly is not easily see. Otherwise a good try.
