Are you familiar with Edgar Rice Burroughs work? He wrote Tarzan. He was also a very cool Syfy writer and wrote the classic "John Carter". In the book they used air travel with giant dragonfly. Disney try to make the movie and it was cool but left out so much of the book. Funny this is "John Carter" was put into a comic book in the 90's and was successful. your image just sparked this memory..wink. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of this dragonfly is great. the presentation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall

I like how you use the dark background in capturing this orange dragonfly. Excellent angle and focus showing its eyes and legs with clarity. A point of improvement is just to decrease brightness a bit to improve the overbright bench. Overall, this is a nice entry to this Bug Contest.

Chuck,
a beautiful picture of the Flame Skipper ~ Libellula saturata a Dragon fly native to western North America, it's colour makes it stand out from the dark background. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
