Love the angle of this shot, Paul; it shows the woodpeckers colors and plumage very well against the blue sky. Focus and clarity are great. I'm thinking he probably found some good grubs in that tree.

This is a very lovely visual presented here of this woodpecker. His colours are extraordinary. He looks like he's king of the land. Wonderful background, which highlights your subject and brings it to the forefront. Thank you for sharing.

the angle taken in this works well and it looks as if it does not know you were taking this[always good for wildlife i feel] not completely 100% about the sky color but takes nothing away from the image...Brian

Thank you again Elisabetta!
I shot him at 2000 mm so he was way up there in
the dead tree.

Such a beautiful find, Paul. I like how you have showcased this red head woodpecker against the blue-clouded sky. He is really standing out. Great angle, focus, and lighting. Nice long distance shot.

What a fine capture! 11. The colours create exciting worlds that let the viewer's mind wander freely. The bird keeps the eye riveted on it, making the photo feel alive. Well done. This deserves a six. Sorry, I don't have any left.
