This is a very unusual picture that you wouldn't see everyday. It has a very unique touch to it that is making me like it. Very good job.

I can see why you have done so well with this photo. It is perfect in every way - very expressive and artistic on top of the technical merrit. I love it. Great work.

Fantastic image. Very evocative, conveys a lot of emotion, especially for a picture with no face. Also tells a strong story. Brilliantly done.

Interesting shot that was well thought out and well put together. There seems to be some element missing and I'm probably nit picking, (sorry!) but I think it would have a little more impact if the hands were centered in this case. There seems to be a little too much dead space on the left. Nice shot, though!

Thanks, centering might have been an option had I planed to have the hands in the actual photo. :) I was attempting to photograph just the barbed wire, but due to low light levels, my camera refused to acquire focus. I set the timer release and ran around the wire thinking that I would use my hands as a larger focal point. However I didn't pull my hands out of the way before the capture was made, and I thought it even worse that the flash failed to fire. Turns out sometimes our mistakes pay off though, as I have a $2,300 US Dollar Mitsubishi Dye-Sub printer sitting beside me as a result of this photo for best of second quarter win at digitalimagecafe.com
No need to be sorry, there are photos that I see that do well and I think they might be better cropped, or adjusted for contrast, etc. We have to go with how an image comes across for us, and that's what critique sites are all about. I value constructive criticism like yours and whether we totally agree with every comment left on one of our images or not, they are all helpful.
I commend you for saying what you think as I don't always see enough of it on this and some other sites.
    Cheers!

This is a very good shot sysop! I like the idea you had for taking the hands in such a position. The fact that it is black and white makes this particular picture more interesting. Very good lighting, the highlights and shadows make the hands stand out nicely.

Wow, this picture is so stunning it's hard to think of exact words to describe it. The black and white adds a certain touch which reflects on how long the struggle for true freedom has been going on. What a great way to show a struggle. Nice job!

Very powerful, especially in the black and white, very crisp and sharp. Says so much for the subject. I love that this is done with no distracting objects in the way. You have inspired me to think differently, thank you for sharing it.
