Oh I like the sepia conversion here sg. What a good idea that was for this piece.
Really good focus...your piece is so well detailed from all the buildings through to trees and finally to the woman on the bench. That is a dog at her feet, yes?? Well exposed and cropped. You set this one up perfectly to point to her solitude. Is that water in front of the bench sg? or just the ground speckled w/ more snow??
I am so hoping the little dog is hers.

You turned the clock back on this one. This could have been shot 60 years ago. The POV is perfect for the feeling conveyed in this scene. The sepia tint gives feeling of isolation and despair. The broad angle of the shot brings in the view of the lady and her forlorn feelings. Nice work.

A very nice shot although I have my doubts about this lady with the fur collar and dog being homeless. Neither does the neighborhood look like one in which you find many homeless. A very well composed shot. Not sure about the sepia.

many thanks;
you think that a lady who has a warm home will sit on a snow covered bench?
as I indicated, she got an old coat with a synthetic fur collar from a lady in the vicinity;
otherwise she sleeps in the underground station.....

a very wonderful but sad story telling image, like the sepia look, adds to the sadness of the image, has good details and depth, like how she is off to the right and not centered, thank you for sharing. dale

Fred,
A beautiful picture that graphically captures the sadness it portrays with the Lady wrapped in her jacket with a fur lined collar pulled up for added warmth & her faithful dog beside her for company. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

If she is homeless then its a sad reflection on humanity,more so this time of year,i might have been tempted to convert this to b/w only for the fact it might have added more starkness,did you speak to her fred...brian

A creative interpretation of contest theme I think. Execution of concept is good: framing shows when, where, and who the figures was.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Bad, bad time to be in this position. Your composition seems to emphasise and highlight her sad situation. This is added to by your monochrome presentation. Well done and good luck!
