What a gorgeous bird this is.
Nicely composed, focused and good lighting.
Fabulous colours are very vibrant and eye-pleasing.
Bright eye and an interesting expression has been captured here.
I like it very much.
Good luck in the contest!

a nice color blue contest entry. as the macaw does have a lot of blue throughout the body.
as I enjoy seeing the face as the black lines look so even but goes other ways.
a pleasure to view. thank you for sharing.
always,
ron

Oh glad this guy is still here....I wanted to get to him a couple of days ago.

That is some beautiful blue wing....makes him perfect for this contest. Wonderful crisp sharp focus on that head. The detail you've captured there is excellent...each little black feather on the white portion of his face literally pops. Very nice work.

Colors are shown very well....not only that blue wing but the orange breast as well. I do like a tight crop....but perhaps a tad tight top and bottom....although I may just be being rather picky there...lol...sorry.

Exposure very good as well. Blurring background ever so slightly would make this guy REALLY pop. He's gorgeous and you've shown him quite well here. I wish you the best w/ him in the contest.

Deborah

A find specimen of this Macaw.

He has that knowing smile that they all seem to have for the people that come to see them.

Great color saturation and Nicely done Dof for sure.

great work.

Pretty Bird, Pretty Bird! This is a pretty bird. Your close up details and the dynamic colors are stunning. I have always been impressed with the detailed lines and facial details of these magnificent birds. Great crop that gives us a great look at this handsome fellow.

These birds are so colorful, and since the wing is as blue as this, it is a fine entry for this contest. The background could have been better, but the bird is standing out from it in a nice way.

Your photo is also nice and sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bird. I also think the exposure is spot on.

The tight cropping is fine, but you still could have had a tad more negative space above the bird's head. Still an all together lovely and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Love the royal.blue color on these birds. You have a great Capture with nice eye clarity and fab feather details.
I feel if you cut the feet out, it's better to crop it differently so we do not miss seeing the feet.
Good Luck ;)

Yes... I know the place.... Not a fan... I have read reviews on the price to get in...Paying for parking..And how animals are treated there.
I like zoo Miami. Cage free...

I remember visiting it more than 20 years ago; Nothing changed, particularly the small cages, just more dust; only the parrots are interesting;the parking price is 10 dollars but the greatest scandal is the entry price: 40 dolars!!! imagine a family with children...
reply by Sange on 18-Jan-2017
I agree... I heard they keep the animals drugged...
You can see a blue parrot and scarlet parrot at Butterfly World...And lorakeets.
I only go to zoo miami

Wow. A stunning photo to be sure. The colors, especially the blues, jump off the page. A perfect entry for the contest. Focus is spot on particularly in and around the eye and beak area. Best of fortune in the contest ~ Steve
