I like the use of earth tones throughout. The "animals" all look so innocuous, and they're playing harmonica, for heavens sake. They appear absorbed in their craft. I like this creation. Quite a different take on the subject of the contest. I always enjoy creativity.

well if an artist participate in this contest they will create some beautiful creature with some meaning followed by some long story on how and why they did it under the artist notes...however, we cartoonist are the ghetto of the art world, we gonna draw and create anything that will grab the viewers eye and hopefully laugh over it. see artist express themselves..However, a good cartoonist can always tell a story in a image and we dont have to write out any notes of what its suppose to be..wink wink.. thanks for the good review.

well over 20 illustrated music videos on youtube so far and growing...yeah im no artist but as a cartoonist you always know what im drawing without me having to explain it and i might even put a smile on ya..who knows maybe even a chuckle..wink.

This is a very fun and imaginative drawing of these three prarie dogs playing music with their harmonicas! You could call them Three Prarie Dog Night like Three Dog Night from the sixties! Best of luck in the contest!

Your use of shadows is really cool in this image. I like the image and my daughter went this is neato. No real suggestions, if you were going to draw a series, maybe give these little guys some unique clothing.

I think you have done a really good composition. The three prairie dogs are the focal point as is the fact they are making music.
The different textures and colors are really well executed. I especially like the mount they are standing on the green leave in the v background. All rendered very well using the media, time consuming I am sure, but the visual effect is perfect.
One suggestion, I think their eyes need a highlight and maybe even a pupil showing.
Other then that, a really fun drawing.

Lucien have you ever looked into the eyes of a prairie dog? their pupils are so wide it does appear all black. heck if i did smaller pupils it would be cartoonish and those committee judges are tough in these contest..wink wink..lol. thanks for the awesome review.

a wonderful picture. May I ask what exactly the creature you have painted in triplicate in such a wonderful way is? I am a city girl and rarely see any animal except the odd squirrel and do or two, and once in a while a cat. Painted with your usual exceptional style of perfection, totally professionally.

praire dogs from the america southwest..you can say like chipmunks or squirrels family but they dig their colony underground. thanks for the great review.

yeah years ago when i was stationed at Ft. Sill, i would make many trips to prairie dog city..they are fun to watch. thanks for the great review.
