Amazing photo...perfect entry for the contest...the hawk has been captured at the right moment...composition is very good...the green grass is giving very good contrast...water with reflections in it is enhancing the charm of the photo... overall very impressive... good luck for the contest

To be a good photographer one has to be ready for these types of opportunities. From time to time when these scenes develop the camera comes up and snap. The results sometimes is not as sharp as we hope. I feel your focus is a touch soft. The frog is toast and will provide nourishment for the food chain. Good luck in the contest.

To be a good photographer one has to be ready for these types of opportunities. From time to time when these scenes develop the camera comes up and snap. The results sometimes is not as sharp as we hope. I feel your focus is a touch soft. The frog is toast and will provide nourishment for the food chain. Good luck in the contest.

I appreciate the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The open wings are interesting. They allow us a good examination of the impressive plumes. The shadow of the bird is intriguing. The photo is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

What a cool shot. This is a great entry for the contest. Wonderful stop action.
As this is a contest I have a couple of thoughts: Thinking out loud there is a lot of empty space which takes away from showcasing the bird. At the same time, looking at the focus, I suspect that if you cropped in to highlight the bird the clarity would not be so good. The shadow is a nice touch so cropping down from the top and from the left a bit might help. LOL So much for my musings on your wonderful image.
