The composition is appealing. My criticism is on the water and reflections. Water is not one single blue hue, feel free to change the hues present in the water. The water being nearly the exact same blue as the sky makes the painting feel bland. The water is also blurry looking, so don't be afraid of crisp edges (which could also be added to the boat and tree). Keep going! :)

Thanks for reviewing. I had the water and sky several colors and changed, trying to reflect the sky colors in the water.

I was always amazed by the looks of a cherry blossom. I love how you incopperated the water in with it and your boat looks so realistic. This is one of my favorite art pieces for sure.

We queued for 2 hours to see cherry blossom in Japan before heading home the following day. This bought back memories of that time for me although there wasn't water or boat. You have got the details of the blossom perfectly with the great color against the blue of the water.

Our son lived in Japan for nearly 11 years and his oldest son was born there - after the really bad earthquake and Fukashima Nuclear Plant scare they decided to come back to Australia and raise both boys here (2nd one born in Australia). They are off for a month, on Easter Monday, to visit my daughter-in-laws family. It is an amazing place and the people are so very friendly and polite.

This is beautiful! This work of art has a feel of Spring and warm weather. Reminds me of the Japanese Cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. The POV is very interesting and effective for the viewer. You have created a perspective of height for the viewer. Beautiful work.

Thank you for your review and fine remarks. I painted the boat, water, including the reflections and shadows, and cherry blossoms with acrylic on a canvas plein air panel. I felt the reference and I had too many branches, so when I brought it into Photoshop, I removed some of the branches and did the rest of the water and background freehanded in photoshop. No program ever executes the work for me. I really don't know much about digital artwork except to touch up, clone (soldier?s or other repetitive work, a little; sharpen, or whatever. I know nothing about using curves and other great ways to improve and manipulate, but I wish to learn some of these techniques. One art institution I belong to, all of the work is hands-on. A computer can only be used to resize, upload to them, and so forth. (But I'm rarely completely satisfied with my artwork. But I give God glory for any talent He has given.) A question: I'm confused about "Mixed Media" artwork. If a computer is used at all, is that Mixed Media? I always thought Mixed Media was using different art mediums (drawing, painting with more than one medium) in the same work. If you know, please let me know. Thanks. (I did not mean to write a dissertation, LOL)

In answer to your question...I don't know either I guess. I have always understood mixed media to mean using multiple media to create art...as in, maybe, Oil and acrylics together, pencil and ink together. I guess any cross over would be mixed media.
