This is such a good photograph. Did you use a strong DOF to blur out the feeder? The tan background looks amazing, but also, you can never go wrong with black?

I shoot these birds with a telephoto lens set between 175 and 200 mm but I stand only 4-5 feet away. This causes the bird to appear larger on film and blurres the background nicely. I also use a sport motion mode to capture the movement better.
