What a great capture Pat. This one has so many things going for it.

The focus is sharp with a shallow depth of field. Position of the bird in the frame is just right. The spot of sunlight adds such a nice touch.

Of course the meal in the bill is a nice bonus.

Pat,
A brilliant stop action picture of the Belted Kingfisher with a fish clasped in it's beak the light sparkling in it's eye & the fish's eye while highlighting it's plumage & the branch it's perched upon. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
