What an excellent drawing Glena! I don't know what the original sculpture looks like (I couldn't find it on Google!), but your drawing gives me a fine idea. A very moving expression on the face, I love the closed eyes, and setting it against a dark background really makes it pop.

Thank you so much, artist friend Charlotte, for the kind comments and great review. I looked for the sculpture I drew years ago but couldn't find it. It seems that his works in those years are missing from his collection. Glena

What a fabulous replica of Charles Umlauf's 1964 stoneware sculpture of Christ's Head! I am intrigued. You have a fine ability to draw well! I love the detail in texture. I feel like I'm looking at a picture of the sculpture, not a drawing.

Thank you, kind artist Jesuel, for reviewing and such encouraging words. Not near the fine cast silver and work you do, but thanks again anyway.

Glenna did I give you five or six stars I meant to give you six let me look and see if I can amend it
-
I fixed it I gave you six not five
-
Thank you for that generosity. I appreciate it so much.

I think this is the second or so post from you relating to the Christ. Each were your rendition of someone else work. And each was very well done by you. Each showed your hand.
When will I review an original interpretation of the Christ by Glena Jessee-King?
You have the gift. Follow the method of the masters. Think of someone you feel exemplifies the values and teachings of Christ and put that face on him... Bob

Thank you so much, artist friend Bob, for your inspiration and encouragement. I hope to do that and now you have certainly helped me to continue the painting of Him returning in the clouds and another for the other side of our mailbox. This is one of my replicas of the Master's works and I just had to share it.

This is a lovely addition for the competition. The face of Jesus is well defined and the black background brings the face into focus. The shadows are nicely placed to give the illusion it's an actual carving. Good luck!
